Pioneer Woman Show FAQs

Tomorrow the second installment of Ree’s Pioneer Woman show will air.  It will definitely involve cheesiness.  We thought we’d take the opportunity to answer her fans many questions.

How many shows will there be?

There will be six episodes. There’s been one (last week), there’ll be one tomorrow, then four episodes after that. For my fans who can’t add, one plus one plus four equals six.

Will you do more shows after that?

I’d like to but thanks to those awful cyberbullies and TweetChats with all their brutal againstness my fate may have been sealed. You see, it’s like this. Ladd’s money can only buy so much for me and then there’s that little thing called talent which I don’t possess.  If the Food Network execs decide to broadcast more of my low-brow shit then Ladd will pony up the money for additional shows.  Either way we’ll take a huge deduction on our taxes. IRS loopholes make my hiney tingle.

What did Charlie do during filming?

He humped a bitch in heat from a neighboring ranch. Frequently pesky Tim would spray them with the hose especially when they were going at it in the prep area.

Where was the show filmed?

At my brand-spanking new custom built television studio. My fans think it’s a lodge.  About six years ago, Marlboro Man and I were looking for another tax shelter so we wouldn’t have to pay out the wazoo to the IRS. We incorporated this pioneer woman hoax and now I get to cook on restaurant grade appliances while Pacific UK Productions films me in my airy tops.  They so reflect my brain.

Tell Us a Funny Behind the Scenes Story.

I learned Tony Bourdain was passing through Pawhuska while filming one of his No Reservations segments. Actually he’d gotten lost and was trying to get the hell outta Oklahoma.  When I invited him to drop by, he refused muttering his aversion for fruit cocktail.

What was the least favorite part of filming the show?

Early on in production meetings, I clearly stated the show was to focus on me, me and me. Nothing else and more importantly, no ONE else. I caught several of the PA’s taking long bathroom breaks after ingesting my cinnamon rolls. They totally ignored my wishes and filmed the ranch, cow hands and my family abusing animals.

What was your least favorite part of filming the show?

Not having enough time to tweet, pick my toes, steal recipe ideas from restaurant menus, write shitty blog posts and do Ladd.

How did you and your family adjust to being filmed?

Very well actually. I’m so used to being the center of attention.  The crew really focused on me when I masturbated on camera. Because I’d been on a few morning shows before and fucked-up royally with Al Roker and Robin Roberts, I figured it would be a cinch to do 57 takes for every scene.  Sometimes I’d say something I thought was mildly amusing, and no one would laugh. I know I’m not funny, but people should be polite and at least pretend I am.

Oh wait, were you asking about my family too?

What was your favorite part about filming the show?

The fact I got to hire a friend to cater the meals for the crew and my family. The very best part…I get to write her expenses off my income tax. She doesn’t know it yet.

You looked awful. Who did your hair and make-up?

Me.

Was it easy for you to get used to being in front of the camera?

Are you serious? I’m a natural — why do you think Food Network wanted me so badly after Voce Communications wined and dined them and I kissed up to Bobby Flay?

How do I contact my cable company and tell them to stop carrying this shit?

Next question please.

Has anyone checked the ratings so far?

  2. Charles (no relation) says:

Yep, if you’re on twitter or a member of the forum, just send me a dm or a private message.

  3. poppy says:

I forgot to say that the Pioneer Woman Show on the Food Network Channel sucks ass!

  4. poppy says:

Everyone- Go back into the PWSux forum and IM rtbok (aka Charlie aka _chrissyb_) your email. You can also DM your email to her via Twitter (just look up @_chrissyb_). Trust me!

  5. The Marlboro Woman says:

I think we’re putting the cart before the horse. I had an email from PWSux and she said she had to take care of some personal matters. She said she’d be back in October. She’s probably just busy with work and family. Let’s don’t give the Drummond clan any ideas :)

    • Josie says:

She should have known that everyone would react with alarm, disappearing the way she did. It’s human nature. I’m glad to hear she is okay…

    • Paula S. says:

Glad to see you, MW! I was starting to wonder where you were. Thanks for letting us know about PWS. We hope you aren’t mad at us for all this chatter on your site today, but we didn’t know what else to do.

    • egReegious says:

Thank you for the info MW. I’m glad to hear that she is OK! You’ll just have to keep on keepin’ on.

  6. Josie says:

I don’t like to speculate, but the suddenness of PWSux’s shutdown suggests a legal action. I have a feeling she received a cease and desist letter (as opposed to a cease and desist order).

“Civil liberties and free speech groups such as the ACLU have criticized cease-and-desist letters, pointing out that the letters may be used by wealthy individuals and organizations to silence opponents who are unable or unwilling to engage in an expensive lawsuit, and thus may feel compelled to comply with a cease-and-desist letter even if it is unjustified.”

I’m just speculating here, but the suddenness of it ~~ especially the forum ~~ with no explanation, points to this.

Never get between a wealthy woman and her source of income…

    • barncat says:

Good work, Josie! Hopefully it’s nothing like a C&D letter (to be followed by a SLAPP), but I’d love to know for sure (I’m not an attorney, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once)

    • fuctincalifornia says:

the only reason that’s even a possibility is that “pioneer woman” was in the name of PWS’ site. as long as no one was making open threats to the person(s) or property of ree drummond, calling her a money-grubbing c**t, the ugliest woman who ever lived, a talentless hack who wouldn’t know good cooking if it bit her in her tingling hiney, WHATEVER, is legal. otherwise, this site and pie near’s would both be kiboshed too.

i’d throw something up to pick up some of MW’s and pie near’s slack, but i don’t know about forums and all that… i can’t even afford a domain. both of those world-class broads have jobs and families and wot not… i have neither of those. in fact, i have nothing but time right now. and there’s gonna be a big gaping hole in the “keeping ree real” department at the worst possible time… that show is utter fucking crap and that damn production company and FN need to be made painfully aware of that fact.

i’ll do a little looking into shit, and get back to everyone.

  7. barncat says:

MW, I hope you don’t view this as hijacking your column, as I know we are all concerned for PWSux. Just tried going over to the FNH blog regarding the first episode of PW, and the link is broken. Weird. I certainly hope that Drummond $$$ isn’t behind a cease and desist activity. I’m just hoping that PWSux just needed a well deserved respite. But that isn’t what my gut is saying.

    • Mellie says:

I bet ten dollars those OKie mobsters slapped her with a gag order. This is not right. Where are we going to get our info so we can keep up with PWS? We need make our voices heard loud and often. What about Rechelle? Does she know anything? Have a great holiday everyone and keep the faith!

      • Paula S. says:

I went to Rechelle’s site and emailed her there hours ago. No answer. I just asked her to let us know if she had heard anything.

    • Suz says:

I just posted something on FNH. I didn’t have a problem. I think all of us are worried — there’s just a lot of bad stuff out there. And, yes, it was odd the way PWS signed off. Which makes all of us wonder…

      • barncat says:

Maybe it was just an internet hiccup ~ I was able to read the FNH comments on the site this time. Feeling very protective fo PWSux right now ~ hoping that all is well with her and her family, and that no one is messing with her.

        • Paula S. says:

I have the urge to file a missing person report. Impossible. We don’t know her name or where she lives. I think Rechelle does know who she is. It seems like I saw an old post somewhere where PWS went by to visit her, but had a paper sack over her head.

  8. Zoe says:

I’m a relatively new commenter and participant on the forums at PWS and was a little surprised at the abruptness of closing everything down with no warning. However, I really do hope everything is okay and that PWS hasn’t been receiving real threats by anyone or any corporation.

MW, nice Q&A! I laughed at the cinnamon roll comment – particularly as I have made them in the past. Looking forward to more posts :)

  9. The Marlboro Woman says:

I’m watching Rick Bayless’ Mexico: One Plate At A Time on my local PBS station. When you compare this show to PW’s, Bayless is all about cooking and imparting knowledge about the ingredients and cooking techniques. There’s none of that on the PW show. There ought to be labeling laws for cooking shows.

    • Skattebol says:

I purposely chose not to watch the show last week as I was a bit hungover and was afraid I would vomit if I watched it. This morning, feeling wonderful, I watched and still felt the overwhelming urge to vomit. So very contrived. I tweeted to FN (I am still not sure how twitter works, so hope they got my tweet) asking if her show was a joke.

  10. The Marlboro Woman says:

Guys, I don’t know any details. This is a very sad development. I hope everything’s o.k. It’s a good sign she’s planning to be back in October.

    • Paula S. says:

It is disturbing. She often mentions if she is going to be out of pocket for just a week or less. Now she disappears for a month with no warning, and on the morning of the next installment of PWTV, too. Everyone has the right to a vacation, but the way she did this doesn’t seem like the way she usually operates. Plus we haven’t heard a peep out of Binko in over two weeks, not even just a quick post to say she’s too busy to play for awhile.

      • Josie says:

Yes, my first instinct was concern ~~ especially since she has closed the forum to “read only” as well. Something is not right. I hope one of the trolls hasn’t found her location, and is threatening her physically. Sometimes things are too close for comfort.

The Drummonds are extremely powerful people.

        • sacha says:

I can’t even get into the forums with my password. I hope everything is ok.

          • Josie says:

I don’t have a good feeling about it. I hope PWSux is okay. If anyone knows anything, it would be good to know. I like her. I hope she’s okay…

            • Skattebol says:

I do not have a good feeling about this either. I really hope that everything is okay with PWS and her family; and also hope that the horrible harassment last week on her blog is not the reason she will be gone for awhile.
The events surrounding TPW FN travesty… I mean show… have a very weird vibe. PWS and others have been harassed on their blogs in the last week. Granted there have been dissenters before, but the level of vitriol spewed this last week was extreme. FNH blogger posts a recap of TPW show and then states she will not be watching it again, which is very strange. From what I have read on that blog, JM seemingly loves to make fun of the stars of FN shows, so why would she not continue to watch and recap TPW show on her blog, particularly given that in her recap last week she thought it was awful?
If anyone hears from PWS, please let us know that she is okay….

          • Paula S. says:

My password let me on most of the forum, but refused to recognize it for the “anything and everything PW” part.Kind of like she shut it down really fast and didn’t do it right. It was the middle of the morning when the last new comment was posted. People had been on there talking, she knew most of us were up and would be stopping by, and she just shut down without saying anything. It just doesn’t seem like the way she normally is. One of the first things I checked was the admin line on the forum, and nada.

            • fuctincalifornia says:

same here. i could look at all the forums but “anything and everything pw”. i was even looking for a link or some such to let her know i was having trouble accessing that forum… till i noticed all the reply buttons were missing. that’s when i came here.

skipping town in the middle of the night (as it were) like she did has me worried. hope everything is alright for her and hers :(

          • OhREEly? says:

I can’t get on with my password either. Either she shut it down too fast, as others are saying or I’m concerned someone hacked into her site “as promised.” This is so unlike PWS. Well, I’m not saying anything new here. Just echoing everyone else’s sentiments and concerns.

        • sheryl says:

That last line about the Drummonds has me worried the most.

          • PWP says:

Couldn’t get on the forum either, says “wrong password”…but I know it’s not. Here’s the thing: maybe that ijit troll who said they were going to HACK her site actually did…or hired some hacker to do so.

Or worse, it’s a case of the moneyed elite Drummonds wreaking havoc on any site that has criticism of PW show.

For anyone else who has a criticism/parody site, heads up and be careful.

            • Paula S. says:

I emailed CC&E to ask if she had any word of PWS and she has not and is very worried. Guys, this is the weirdest thing I’ve seen since strange goings on when I was helping fight a nuclear polluter. Sorry, MW to hijack your forum. Maybe you are going to write something about this??

      • Kait says:

Binko’s computer broke, remember? Then she borrowed one for a brief time from the library, but I am sure it was not something she could keep forever. Plus she is a teacher so she is probably busy with her sons and school right now.

    • Paula S. says:

You know, the sixth PW show on FN will be on Oct. 1, if they don’t skip any weeks. Could the shut down message she left really be from a hacker, who wants PWS shut down until after PW’s shows all air, and PWS can’t figure out how to get her site back up? But in that case, it seems like she would email you or Rechelle or Cat.

  11. Suz says:

I hope she’s OK, too. Just hope she doesn’t go where Nezzy did !

  12. Lindsay says:

Does anyone know what happened to Pioneer Woman Sux? Huh. Also, I am very much looking forward to participating in Pioneer Woman’s quiz ABOUT HERSELF.

  13. Lainey says:

Even her forum is closed :(

    • Hellen Wheels says:

I’m sure she closed it in case the trolls came back and overran it in her absence. I hope PWSux is okay too.

  14. poppy says:

I know. Right? MW, is she okay?

    • Paula S. says:

Good morning guys. I was sure unpleasantly surprised to find the PWSux site down for a month without warning. Hope she isn’t being seriously threatened or having some crisis in her life.

  15. anon. says:

I just saw on PWS that she’s going to be gone the rest of the month and we won’t be able to post any more comments there. :( I was going to post about the show today.

  16. Most excellent MW. Who does gREEd think she is kidding anyway?

Did we ever find out what the ratings were for last week? Well, I am heading over to Tweetchat!

    • Sue M. says:

Looked for the ratings on son of the bronx. Did not see anything for FN for last Saturday. Will keep looking.

  17. egReegious says:

I don’t know which post was funnier: Hers because it was so fake or yours because it was so spot on! Keep up the good work MW!

  18. Sue M. says:

Take a bow, MW. We can only hope they only film 6 episodes.

  19. Hellen Wheels says:

    Bwahahahaha! Great job!

The crew must have had to medicate themselves to get through 2 weeks of that crap.

  20. poppy says:

MW, You seem angry. Is there anything you’d like to talk about? ROTFLMAO!

  21. MOV says:

Oh, dearest delightful Pioneer Whore, *everything* you say is mildly amusing. You make me laugh all day!

And I have one more question for you: How often do you have to get Botox? It appears that your forehead never moves (much like your cinnamon rolls after being ingested).

Good luck with the show! You’ll need it!

    best,
    MOV

  22. annmarie says:

Oh god! I was so hoping one of you would do a post on this. I love the part where she acts like if the show won’t go on it will be because her and Ladd will have decided their 42 year old bodies can’t handle it. Yeah Ree, that’s why the show won’t go on. I think she senses her days are numbered. But my favorite part of the post was when she told everyone to check back in later where she will be doing a quiz…ABOUT HER SHOW! The woman has reached new levels of arrogance.

  23. Skattebol says:

“You looked awful. Who did your hair and make-up?

    Me.”

    Hilarious!

  24. The Marlboro Woman says:

Food Network wisely went conservative with this hack. Six episodes? That speaks volumes.

  25. sageNV says:

Great post, MW!! Laughed my ass off! Way better than her fake answers to her fake questions!

  26. sageNV says:

    First! First! First!!
